Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh cherries (make sure they have stems) Choose fresh, plump cherries for the best flavor and texture.
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Preferably halal-certified.
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil Helps with melting.

Optional Toppings

  • crushed nuts For added texture.
  • shredded coconut For a tropical twist.
  • sea salt For a sweet-savory contrast.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by washing the cherries and patting them dry with a clean paper towel. Ensure they are completely dry as any moisture can hinder the chocolate from adhering properly.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  • Hold the cherries by the stems and dip them into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are covered completely. Gently shake off any excess chocolate and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle your desired toppings over the cherries for an extra flair of flavor and texture.
  • Refrigerate the baking sheet for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.
  • Once the chocolate has hardened, they are ready to enjoy!

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. For freezing, lay the cherries out on a baking sheet until the chocolate is solid, then transfer them to a freezer-safe container for up to two months. Best enjoyed chilled or at room temperature right after preparation.
