  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Ensure it's at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • ½ cup butter, softened Also at room temperature.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs Ensure they are at room temperature.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Gradually add in the granulated sugar and brown sugar, continuing to beat until well combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Carefully mix in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
  • For best results, refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes to meld flavors and improve texture (optional).

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop spoonfuls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers still look slightly soft.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For the best cookies, ensure all ingredients are room temperature and do not skip chilling the dough. Avoid overbaking to maintain a chewy texture. Cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
