  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Add-Ins

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to add more for a chunkier cookie.
  • 1 cup crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup caramel bits (or small caramel squares, cut into pieces)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until fully incorporated.
  • Carefully fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, crushed pretzels, and caramel bits.
  • Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop heaping tablespoons of cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until they are lightly golden around the edges.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer storage, freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to restore gooey texture.
