  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce For marinating chicken.
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (optional) Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Used in marinade for texture.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Balances the flavors.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Slice the chicken breasts into thin strips for quick cooking.
  • Cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets.

Marination and Stir-Frying

  • In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Toss in the broccoli florets and continue to stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes.

Sauce and Serving

  • In a small bowl, mix oyster sauce (if using), sugar, and a splash of water. Add this sauce to the chicken and broccoli mixture.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as desired.
  • Plate your Chinese Chicken and Broccoli hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave until heated through.
