  • 2 pieces Chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Use Italian seasoning for extra flavor
  • ½ cup Flour For dredging
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Marinara sauce Preferably homemade or a quality store-bought
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 12 mini buns Slider buns
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For frying
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish Optional

Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides. Set up your dredging station with three plates: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs.
  • Start by coating each piece of chicken in flour, shaking off the excess, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the coated chicken and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until they’re golden brown and crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

Assembling & Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the slider buns on a baking sheet. On each bottom bun, spread a generous amount of marinara, add a piece of fried chicken, then top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Place the assembled sliders in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Serving

  • Remove from the oven, top with fresh basil if desired, and crown with the top half of the sliders. Serve warm, and watch everyone savor the deliciousness!

Notes

For substitutions, consider using chicken thighs for juicier sliders or gluten-free breadcrumbs if needed. To simplify the process, prepare chicken and dredging ahead of time. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes, or freeze the chicken patties before assembling.
