Cuisine Italian
- 1 lb chicken breasts cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup breadcrumbs Italian seasoned preferred
- 1 cup pasta penne or rotini work well
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
- fresh basil for garnish, optional
Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. In a shallow bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
Coat the Chicken: Dredge the seasoned chicken pieces in breadcrumbs, ensuring they are well-coated.
Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the coated chicken and cook until golden brown, approximately 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken and set it aside.
Cook the Pasta: In the same skillet, add the pasta and marinara sauce. Stir to combine and bring to a gentle simmer.
Combine Everything: Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet. Mix well, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Add the Cheese: Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the pasta and chicken. Cover the skillet for a few minutes until the cheese melts and becomes bubbly!
Serve: Once the cheese is gooey and golden, remove it from heat. Garnish with fresh basil if desired, and enjoy your Chicken Parmesan Pasta Skillet!
