  • 1 lb turnips, peeled and cubed Choose smaller turnips for a sweeter flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko recommended for extra crunch)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Optional Fresh parsley for garnish

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Peel and cube the turnips into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a large mixing bowl, toss the cubed turnips with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well coated.
  • In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and half of the Parmesan cheese. Coat the seasoned turnips with this mixture, pressing it down to ensure it sticks well.

Cooking

  • Spread the turnips evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 30 minutes, turning once until they start to become tender.
  • Remove from the oven, sprinkle the remaining Parmesan over the top, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
  • Let them cool for a few minutes, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve and enjoy your Cheesy Parmesan Crusted Turnips!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes for the best texture.
