Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese The star ingredient!
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste salt and pepper

Garnish

  • to taste Fresh basil or parsley Optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper on both sides.

Cooking

  • In a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat, add a splash of olive oil and sear the chicken breasts for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Pour the marinara sauce over the chicken, spreading it evenly to cover each piece.
  • Generously sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  • Move the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Once out of the oven, let it sit for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for 2-3 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
