  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup honey mustard
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with mozzarella or gouda
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Rinse chicken breasts under cool water and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Sprinkle salt and pepper over both sides of the chicken breasts.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Drizzle honey mustard evenly over the top of each seared breast.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese generously over the honey mustard-coated chicken.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, until chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C) and cheese is bubbling and golden.
  • Carefully remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flair, top with fresh herbs or crunchy breadcrumbs. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for about 2 months.
