Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded Protein base for the dish.
  • 1 cup orzo pasta A rice-shaped pasta that cooks quickly.
  • 3 cups chicken broth To cook the orzo.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella recommended) For the cheesy topping.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Adds creaminess to the dish.
  • 1 cup spinach (optional) For added nutrition.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For flavoring.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder For flavoring.
  • to taste Salt and pepper To season the dish.
  • Olive oil for greasing the baking dish Prevent sticking.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bring the chicken broth to a boil in a medium-sized pot, then add the orzo. Cook it until it’s al dente, about 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked orzo, shredded chicken, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and spinach (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Baking

  • Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil, then pour the orzo mixture into the dish and spread it evenly.
  • Sprinkle your favorite cheese all over the top of the mixture.
  • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20–25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  • Once bubbly and golden brown, take it out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Customize with veggies or different cheeses. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes.
