  • 1/4 cup melted butter

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar or mozzarella)

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Stir in the shredded cheese.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and egg.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve warm, plain or with butter. Pairs well with soups and salads. Store leftovers wrapped tightly. Can freeze for up to three months.
