Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz) Use a quality cake mix for best results.
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil Can be substituted with unsweetened applesauce for a healthier option.
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate) Opt for good quality chocolate chips.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional, chopped) Can be omitted if desired.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cake mix and chocolate chips. If you’re using nuts, add them now.
  • In the same bowl, add the vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined, taking care not to over-mix.
  • Pour the batter into the greased or lined baking pan. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
  • Place the pan in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Once baked, remove the pan and let it cool on a wire rack. Cut the brownies into squares and enjoy!
