Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning Adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For searing
  • 1 cup heavy cream This gives the sauce its creaminess
  • 1 cup chicken broth For flavor depth
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic Fresh garlic preferred for best flavor
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season to preference
  • for garnish Fresh parsley Chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts generously with Cajun seasoning, ensuring they are well coated.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Cooking

  • Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet and sear for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chicken broth, stirring to deglaze the pan and scrape up any bits stuck to the bottom.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low, slowly add the heavy cream, and stir to combine. Let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Return the seared chicken to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve the Cajun chicken over rice, pasta, or your favorite grain.

Notes

Control the spice level by adjusting the Cajun seasoning. Use fresh garlic for better flavor. For a thicker sauce, simmer longer or add cornstarch mixed with water. This recipe can also be made with chicken thighs for a juicier option. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or frozen for 3 months.
