Bloody Red Velvet Popcorn

Ingredients
Popcorn Ingredients
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels Popped according to your preferred method
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted coconut oil For popping the corn

- 1 cup white chocolate chips Melted for coating
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder For red velvet flavor
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar Adds sweetness
- Red food coloring optional for extra vibrant color Add as desired
- A pinch of salt Enhances sweetness
Instructions
Preparation
- Begin by popping the popcorn kernels according to your preferred method. If using a stovetop, heat the vegetable oil in a large pot, add the kernels, and cover. Shake occasionally until popping slows. If using an air popper, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Be careful not to overheat it!
- Once the chocolate is melted, stir in the cocoa powder and powdered sugar until well combined. If you want it extra red, add a few drops of red food coloring to reach your desired color.
Combining
- Pour the popped popcorn into a large bowl. Drizzle the melted chocolate mixture over the popcorn, tossing gently to coat evenly.
- Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the coated popcorn and mix well.
Cooling
- Spread the popcorn out on a wax paper-lined baking sheet, allowing it to cool and harden for about 10-15 minutes.
- Once the popcorn has cooled and set, it’s ready to serve! Grab a bowl, sit back, and dig in!
Notes
For even coating, work in small batches when drizzling the chocolate. Use high-quality white chocolate and cocoa powder for better flavor. Add toppings like sprinkles or crushed nuts for extra crunch.
