Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
  • In another bowl, mix together the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  • Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Lumps are fine!
  • Pour the batter into the greased baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • While the bars cool, whisk together the powdered sugar and maple syrup for the glaze.
  • Once the bars have cooled for about 10 minutes, drizzle the glaze over the top.
  • Allow the glaze to set before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

For substitutions, consider using whole wheat flour or a gluten-free blend. Keep an eye on the baking time to prevent over-browning. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate.
