Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, allowing enough space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
