Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef strips (halal, such as sirloin)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth (halal-compliant)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (halal)
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 large French bread loaf, sliced
  • Fresh parsley (for garnishing)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients to ensure a smooth cooking process.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and cook until browned on the outside, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the beef and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until fragrant and the onion becomes translucent.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms and continue cooking until tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, bringing to a gentle simmer and letting it cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Lower the heat and stir in the sour cream, adding the cooked beef back to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Lightly toast the French bread slices until golden brown.
  • Spoon the beef stroganoff mixture over the toasted bread slices and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Customize with additional spices or toppings like fresh herbs or sour cream for extra flavor. Store the beef separately from the bread to maintain texture.
