Brownie Batter

  • 1 piece ripe avocado, mashed Ensure it's ripe for the best texture.
  • 1 cup sugar (can adjust based on sweetness preference) Coconut sugar or maple syrup can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor.
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips (optional) For added richness.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan with a bit of oil.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe avocado until smooth. Add the sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually pour the dry ingredients into the avocado mixture, stirring until just combined. If using chocolate chips, fold them into the batter gently.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing it out evenly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cooling and Serving

  • Once done, allow the brownies to cool in the pan before slicing and serving.

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for up to a week. Warm slightly in the microwave before serving. Add a dash of espresso powder for enhanced flavor and avoid over-baking for best texture.
