Step-by-Step Instructions
Prepare the Oven and Pan:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and lightly flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Combine Wet Ingredients:
In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until smooth.
Make the Batter:
Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined—avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender.
Prepare the Cinnamon Swirl:
In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together.
Layer the Batter:
Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter. Add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Create the Swirl:
Use a knife to gently swirl the cinnamon-sugar mixture into the batter, creating a marbled effect.
Bake the Bread:
Bake in the preheated oven for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve:
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
