Cooking the Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or fettuccine and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Preparing the Asparagus

  • In the same pot, add olive oil over medium heat. Once heated, add the asparagus pieces and sauté for about 3-4 minutes, or until tender yet still crisp.

Adding Garlic

  • Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant. Be cautious not to burn the garlic—it should be lightly golden.

Combining Ingredients

  • Add the cooked pasta, lemon juice, and lemon zest to the pot. Toss everything together. If the mixture seems dry, gradually add some reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.

Seasoning and Serving
