Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 ea egg

For the Filling

  • 1 cup peeled and diced apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) Optional but highly recommended for added crunch

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  • Gradually add the melted butter, milk, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently for 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough into a rectangle (about 1/2 inch thick).

Filling

  • In a separate bowl, mix diced apples, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  • Spread the apple mixture evenly over the dough. If you’re adding nuts, sprinkle them on top.

Assembly and Baking

  • Starting from one end, roll the dough tightly into a log shape, pinching the seams to seal.
  • Cut the rolled dough into 1-inch thick slices and place them in a greased baking dish.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Glaze and Serve

  • While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  • Drizzle over the warm rolls once they are out of the oven.
  • Allow the rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Leftover rolls can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for a week or freeze for 3 months. To reheat, microwave for 20-30 seconds or warm in a preheated oven at 350°F for 10 minutes.
