For the Bread

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Topping

  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and cream cheese until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix well.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed.
  • In a small bowl, mix the oats, brown sugar, and melted butter until crumbly for the topping.
  • Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the batter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let it cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
