Ingredients
  

Fruit Mixture

  • 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced Use a mix of different apple varieties for best flavor.
  • 2 cups blackberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Feel free to add a pinch of nutmeg or clove for a unique twist.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Brightens the flavors of the fruit.

Crumble Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • a pinch salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, blackberries, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the fruit is well coated. Pour the fruit mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In another bowl, mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture is crumbly.
  • Spread the crumbly topping evenly over the fruit mixture in the baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

If you have leftovers, allow to cool completely, cover tightly, and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes or microwave for 30 seconds.
