  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter softened

Instructions

  • Prep the Ingredients:
  • Lay the slices of sourdough bread on a cutting board. Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice.
  • Assemble the Sandwich:
  • On the unbuttered side of one bread slice, layer cheddar cheese and turkey slices. If desired, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard or mayonnaise on the inside for added flavor. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
  • Heat the Skillet:
  • Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  • Toast the Sandwich:
  • Place the assembled sandwich onto the hot skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, pressing lightly with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
  • Flip and Finish:
  • Carefully flip the sandwich and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes, until the bread is toasted and the cheese is fully melted.
