  • 3-4 pounds chuck roast The star of the dish.
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix Adds flavor.
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix Enhances the broth.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter One stick, cut into slices.
  • 5-6 pieces pepperoncini peppers For a tangy kick.

Preparation

  • Begin by placing the chuck roast in your slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle both the ranch dressing mix and the au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.
  • Cut the stick of unsalted butter into slices and place them on top of the seasonings.
  • Throw the pepperoncini peppers on top of everything. Optionally, add a bit of the pepper juice for an extra kick!
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 8 hours. Avoid lifting the lid to keep the flavors intact.
  • Once finished, shred the meat with a fork and stir it into the juices. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or your favorite side.

Notes

For even more flavor, consider adding Worcestershire sauce or fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme. Searing the roast beforehand enhances the taste. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
