Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups canned or fresh peaches (sliced, preferably in syrup for sweetness) Peaches are the star of the dish.
  • 1 cup cake mix (any type you prefer; make sure it’s halal-friendly) Choose a cake mix that fits your taste.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted) Melt the butter before mixing.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • If using fresh peaches, wash, slice, and place them in a baking dish. If using canned, drain them if needed, and spread them evenly.

Mixing

  • In a medium bowl, combine the cake mix with the melted butter. Stir it just until combined; it's okay if it's a bit lumpy!

Assembly

  • Pour the cake mixture over the peaches in the baking dish. Don't worry about making it perfect; a rustic look is charming here!

Baking

  • Place the baking dish in your preheated oven and let it bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until it’s golden brown and bubbly.

Cooling and Serving

  • Once done, remove the cobbler from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before serving. This dessert is wonderful on its own or topped with your favorite Halal-whipped cream.

Notes

You can swap peaches for other fruits like apples or cherries, check the middle of the cobbler with a toothpick to ensure it's done, and avoid overmixing the batter for the best texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
