Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure the butter is softened to room temperature for a smooth mix.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it warmed up and ready for baking.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer or a spoon until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Gradually add in the all-purpose flour, mixing until combined. Be careful not to overmix — just until the flour is incorporated.
  • Use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to portion out the dough. Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper about 2 inches apart.
  • Lightly press down on each ball with the back of a fork or your fingers to slightly flatten them.
  • Bake in your preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the centers still look soft.
  • Remove from the oven, and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store your cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze them for longer storage — they can last up to three months in the freezer. Reheat in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for about 5-7 minutes to restore the freshly baked texture.
