Ingredients

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 2 lbs country-style pork ribs
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes in a sizable mixing bowl (if using).
  • Make sure the country-style pork ribs are evenly coated before adding them to the marinade.
  • For optimal results, marinate in the refrigerator overnight or for at least two hours.
  • Increase the heat on the grill or broiler.
  • After removing the ribs, discard the marinade and save it for another use.
  • For 6 to 8 minutes on each side, or until the ribs are blackened and thoroughly cooked, grill or broil the ribs over high heat.
  • Pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and heat it to a boil while the ribs are cooking.
  • Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the sauce has slightly thickened, on low heat.
  • If desired, add more sesame seeds and baste the sauce over the cooked ribs. Serve right away.
