Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Feel free to substitute with whole-wheat flour or gluten-free options.
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Wet Ingredients

  • ¾ cup milk (or plant-based milk) Make sure it's warm, not hot.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or melted butter) Use melted butter for a non-vegan option.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until combined.
  • Create a well in the center and pour in the milk and olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  • On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough gently for about 1-2 minutes until it’s smooth. Avoid over-kneading.
  • Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Using a sharp knife, make a shallow cut on top of the loaf.

Baking

  • Bake for 15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  • Let it cool slightly before slicing.

  • Serve warm and enjoy the fresh, warm bread aroma!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, slice and freeze for up to 3 months.
