Plus, it’s incredibly versatile, allowing you to customize it with your favorite ingredients for a truly personalized dining experience.

Now, let’s gather our kitchen equipment and ingredients to whip up this mouthwatering casserole:

Kitchen Equipment Needed:

  1. Large skillet
  2. Mixing bowl
  3. 9×13 inch baking dish
  4. Cooking spray or butter for greasing the baking dish
  5. Aluminum foil

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 pound beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese, sliced or shredded
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Cooked rice or pasta, for serving (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onion and bell peppers, and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet and add the thinly sliced beef sirloin steak. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic to the skillet, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried oregano. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  6. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture evenly on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  7. Layer half of the cooked beef and vegetable mixture on top of the cream cheese mixture in the baking dish.
  8. Layer half of the provolone and mozzarella cheese on top of the beef and vegetable mixture.
  9. Repeat the layers with the remaining cream cheese mixture, beef and vegetable mixture, and cheeses.
  10. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  12. Serve this delicious Philly Cheese Steak Casserole hot, with cooked rice or pasta if desired.
