2. **Make the Crust**: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and softened butter. Using an electric mixer (or your hands), blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until lightly golden brown. Remove from oven and set aside.

3. **Prepare the Filling**: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in the chopped pecans until well combined.

4. **Add the Filling**: Pour the pecan mixture over the pre-baked crust, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

5. **Bake**: Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and lightly golden on top. The center should be slightly jiggly but not runny.

6. **Cool and Cut**: Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment overhang. Once cooled, cut into squares or rectangles and serve.
