Kitchen Equipment Needed:
- Mixing bowl
- Baking dish or oven-safe skillet
- Spoon or spatula
- Aluminum foil (optional)
Ingredients:
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup chopped pickled jalapeños (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup chopped cooked bacon or diced ham (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 round loaf of bread, hollowed out (such as sourdough or French bread)
- Additional shredded cheddar cheese, for topping
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, chopped pickled jalapeños, cooked bacon or diced ham (if using), Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and creamy.
- Spoon the mixture into the hollowed-out loaf of bread, spreading it out evenly.
- If desired, sprinkle additional shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the dip.
- Place the filled bread loaf in a baking dish or oven-safe skillet. If you prefer a softer dip, cover the dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden brown on top.
- If using foil, remove it for the last 5 minutes of baking to allow the cheese to brown.
- Remove from the oven and let the Mississippi Sin Dip cool slightly before serving.
- Serve the dip warm with sliced baguette, crackers, or vegetable crudité for dipping.
