Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (or ground turkey or chicken)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian-seasoned)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish or loaf pan with cooking spray or oil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, milk, eggs, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
- Transfer the meat mixture to the greased baking dish or loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf shape.
- Spread marinara sauce evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Cover the baking dish or loaf pan with aluminum foil, crimping the edges to seal tightly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
- After 40 minutes, remove the aluminum foil and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the meatloaf.
- Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for ground beef or 165°F (74°C) for ground turkey or chicken, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
