For the Streusel Topping:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Directions:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Set aside.

    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
    • Fold in the chopped apples. Set aside.
  2. Make the Cheesecake Layer:
    • In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.

    • Pour the remaining bread batter over the cheesecake layer and spread it out evenly.
    • Sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the top of the bread.
  5. Bake the Bread:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • If the bread starts to brown too quickly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil.
    • Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 15 minutes.
    • Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the bread out of the pan and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
