Amish Oatmeal Pie is a wonderfully hearty and satisfying dessert that’s reminiscent of pecan pie but with a delightful oatmeal twist. It’s not heavy or overly sweet either.

I think it’s a perfect pie for any season, and if you’re not a fan of pecans, feel free to omit them. It will still be undeniably delicious! If you’re looking for a cozy and comforting dessert that’s not overly sweet, you’ve come to the right place. When you make a sweet, gooey filling and pair it with a flaky pie crust, you get the perfect pie. The addition of oatmeal just sends it over the top. I’ve really been in the mood for some comforting flavors, and this dreamy pie reminds me of home. Not a fan of nuts? Don’t worry, it’s still delicious without them.

Kitchen Equipment Needed:

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Pie dish
  • Spatula
  • Rolling pin (if making homemade pie crust)
  • Oven

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Pie Crust:
    • Place the unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish, crimping the edges as desired. Set aside.
  3. Mix the Filling:
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and rolled oats.
  4. Add the Wet Ingredients:
    • In another bowl, beat the eggs lightly. Add the light corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Combine the Mixtures:
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir until fully combined.
  6. Fill the Pie Crust:
    • Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. The pie should be slightly jiggly in the center but will set as it cools.
  8. Cool:
    • Allow the pie to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
  9. Serve:
    • Enjoy a slice of this comforting Amish Oatmeal Pie with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This Amish Oatmeal Pie is a delightful dessert that’s perfect for any occasion. The combination of a sweet, gooey filling with the hearty texture of oatmeal is simply irresistible! Enjoy the rich flavors and the cozy comfort of this delightful pie.
